Nutella Banana Bread

A gooey twist on the isolation banana bread!

Everyone seems to be making banana bread during isolation and I can see why. It's an easy bake and a great way to use those brown bananas up and make a treat. I thought I would put a recipe together with a bit of a twist. Ive kept the recipe as easy as possible, It's also a great one to make with the kids, the whole process isn't too precious but its fun to make.

Ingredients:

- 140g Butter or Spread, plus extra for greasing tin

- 140g Brown Sugar (any sugar will do)

- 140g Self Raising Flour

- 2 Large Eggs

- 1 tsp Baking Powder

- 2 Very Ripe Bananas

- Tsp Vanilla Extract (not essential)

- 100g Nutella (or any spread - biscoff, chocolate spread etc)

- 50g Chocolate Chips (optional)

You'll also need:

- Loaf Tin

- A Strip of Greaseproof Paper

Preheat your oven to 180c

Start by creaming together your butter, sugar and vanilla essence if you have it.

Add in eggs, flour and baking powder and mix well

Mash your bananas well and stir into your mix. Grease your tin and line with greaseproof paper and then pour your mixture into the tin.

Put your Nutella into the microwave for around 30 seconds or until pourable. Drizzle the melted Nutella over the top of your mixture. Use a toothpick or a sharp knife and drag this around to mix the Nutella into a pattern on top. Scatter over your chocolate chips.

Bake for 50-60 minutes depending on your oven. Check with a toothpick or sharp knife - a few crumbs left is perfect.

Leave to cool as long as you can resist, or at least leave it to cool down a bit - I couldn't wait very long - but it is delicate when first coming out the oven. Enjoy with a cuppa!

I hope you enjoy baking this and remember to tag me in your makes! Take care, Sophie xo
